Delivery Promise Update - July 2024
We've been working to improve Delivery Promise throughout July, so you can better communicate shipping timelines with your customers. We're thrilled to announce three major updates to our shipping features that will make your customer experience even better.
1. Improved ETA Algorithm
We’ve upgraded our ETA algorithm to provide more accurate estimated delivery times. This new algorithm is already in use and offers a tighter, more precise window for ETAs. By enhancing our data aggregation, we also can offer more consistent ETAs when shipping a package to places where you infrequently deliver orders. From our analysis, this new algorithm is already delivering results that will delight both your brand and your customers.
2. Introducing the Expected Date
For stores that prefer to communicate a specific delivery date instead of a range, we now offer the Expected Date feature. The expected date is the median date from the algorithm's shipping range, giving you a reliable mid-point to share with your customers. This helps set clear expectations and improves the overall shopping experience.
3. Support for Third-Party App Shipping Rates
Wonderment now supports shipping rates from other apps for our Delivery Promise feature. Whether you use Advanced Shipping Rules or other carrier-provided apps to determine your shipping rates at checkout, we can now append our calculated ETA to those rates. You’ll find these under the "3rd Party App Rates" section when configuring Delivery Promise. You can also use these third-party shipping rates on our Product Detail Page (PDP) Placement of ETAs. Even when using a separate app to determine your shipping rates, your experience can be unified from the product page to checkout to order tracking, keeping your customers informed every step of the way.
Search The Shipments Dashboard by ETA
The Wonderfilter on the dashboard now supports filtering by ETA. Try a query like, "packages with an ETA after August 3" and see filtered results.
